Does your confidence level get lowered by the various daily life problems? If so, this is a clear indicator you need to improve and build your self confidence. There are many cases where confidence changes into over confidence. At the end of this article you will get to know how to improve your confidence.

So what exactly is confidence?

Confidence measures one’s faith on himself or herself. Confidence is directly linked with self- esteem. A person having low self-esteem will also have low confidence levels. A person having high self-esteem will have a high confidence level. It is seen that people with low self esteem have a tendency to sit in a corner or shy away from the spotlight. They usually have a shy nature. Confidence is important as it is required in many difficult situations like while asking someone out on a date, making new friends, giving a public speech, performing on stage in front of a live audience, while having conversations with a higher authority or official and in a job interview. In short we can say that confidence can be tested by simply going through life’s daily tasks.

This was about what confidence is and where it is needed. Now the answer to how to improve confidence is discussed below. Lack of confidence is noticeable when you become nervous, sweaty or when you start giving excuses. So let’s tackle it by getting to the point.

Accepting your flaws is the first step in improving confidence. Everyone has flaws, no one is perfect. It is okay if you mess things up unintentionally. Such thinking does not mean you lack confidence. It just means that you were unlucky. There is a big difference between a confident person and an unconfident person. Confident people have the tendency of accepting their flaws and working on them whereas unconfident people tend to get irritated if someone points out their flaws.

The second step in improving confidence is by not caring about what others say about you. Confidence comes from not letting other’s opinions and thoughts affect you in any way. Listen to whatever others say, it may be advice or criticism. Just listen to them but never let them affect you and your opinions. Do not get angry hearing other’s opinions about you. Do not take anything personally. Whenever someone says something to you just make a mental note of it. By taking other’s opinions to heart you tend to believe in them.

The third and last golden step in improving self confidence is by believing in yourself. You should possess a never say no attitude. You will definitely be successful if you have an "I can do it attitude". When you constantly believe in yourself, it indirectly means you have confidence in yourself. Even if you face some big problem keep saying "I can do it" and then you will notice that you have successfully solved that particular problem.

These were the 3 golden tips on how to improve confidence.
